These are shelled chufas where small chufas have been used. The advantage of these is that they are somewhat easy to bite through. The size is 9-12 mm, while regular peeled chufas are 11-14 mm in size. They are also mechanically stripped of the chufa's firm outer shell.

Description
These hulled chufas are 'raw', organic and free of gluten and allergens. They are rich in fibre that acts as a prebiotic in your gut and contain the minerals magnesium and iron and are rich in phosphorus and potassium.
Use
A delicious snack, they fill up well and have a sweet taste of their own. You can also add them perfectly through salad or in your breakfast! A good combination: peeled chufas, pieces of chocolate and currants or sultanas!

I always prepare my yoghurt with oatmeal 1 day in advance. Delicious with a tablespoon of chufas in it (and extra liquid/water) so the whole thing doesn't get too dry and the chufas and oatmeal can rehydrate. Delicious bite and slightly sweet flavour due to the chufas. Also nice for the extra fibre and nutrients.
