What personal data we collect and why we collect it

The following data are required to ship products:

• • Name
  • Address details
  • In some cases the VAT number, for orders outside the Netherlands by companies liable for VAT
  • Password
  • Email address

The purpose of collecting this data is:

• To be able to send you your order
• To send you information about your account and order
• To respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
• To process payments and prevent fraud
• To set up your account for our shop
• To comply with legal obligations, such as calculating tax
• To improve our retail offer
• To send marketing messages to you, if you choose to do so

If you create an account, your name, address, e-mail address and phone number will be used to automatically fill in the checkout details for future orders.

In general, we store information about you for as long as we need it for the purpose for which we collect and use it. We are not legally obliged to keep it. For example, we store order information for tax and accounting purposes. This information includes your name, e-mail address, and billing and shipping address.

The data is kept to look up previous orders again, it helps us provide customers with better service. This data stays with ChufaFactory and in no way goes to other people. The data will not be lent, sold, rented or made public.

Contact form

ChufaFactory's website uses a contact form. When you send a message via the contact form, it arrives in our mailbox, which are read via IMAP on mobile, laptop and computer. A visitor wishing to fill in a form must enter their name, e-mail address and response. Completed contact forms are kept for reference. The data filled in will remain with ChufaFactory and in no case will it go to other people. The e-mail address will not be used for marketing purposes, so you will not receive a newsletter after completing and sending a contact form. The data will also not be lent, sold, rented or made public.

To prevent as much spam as possible, Google's reCAPTCHA v3 is used.

Comments on blog articles or reviews products

Should you comment on a blog article or want to give your opinion on a product, it is much appreciated. In this case, you will be asked for your name and e-mail address, except if you have an account and are logged in, then your name will automatically be listed with the review or comment. It will also include whether you own the product and the date of posting the comment or review.

Your comment or review is public and can be viewed by anyone, as can your name. Your e-mail address is not made public and other people cannot contact you.

Newsletter

When you enter your e-mail address to place an order, you are not directly subscribed to the newsletter. An option to subscribe yourself is available on the page where you confirm your order. The box where you can subscribe is off by default, you have to make the choice to subscribe yourself.

Another option is to use the option at the bottom of the website. By entering your name and e-mail address, you will receive a newsletter approximately every month.

Every newsletter contains the option to unsubscribe from the newsletter.

Cookies

• your payment details are shared with Targetpay, this company processes ChufaFactory's payments.
• Your address details are shared with Myparcel. This company takes care of creating the shipping labels.

Embedded content from other websites

The videos on this site are embedded and behave exactly as if you had visited this other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking and monitor your interaction with this embedded content, including interaction with embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Google Analytics

The website has an account with Google Analytics. This allows us to see, for example, how many people visit the site from a mobile, tablet or desktop and which pages are well visited and which pages could be better. Google does not get hold of your personal data but looks more at your behaviour as a visitor.

The reason for using Google Analytics is to get a picture of which direction the website should go (mobile-first, for example) and where the website could be improved.

Bol.com orders

When a product is purchased via bol.com, we receive notification from bol.com and download a packing slip with your name and address. This packing slip is removed from the hard disk at the end of the month and your details are not saved in the address book of MyParcel, the shipping service.

Payment is via bol.com, payment details are therefore not known to ChufaFactory.

Payment details

Upon payment, ChufaFactory will not see your account number directly, payment goes through payment provider Targetpay.

Inspection, modification and/or deletion of your personal data

If you have an account, you can change your username and password yourself. If you would like to know what personal data of yours is known to ChufaFactory, please send us a message to info@chufafactory.com and we will check it for you. If you would like to make changes to or (partially) delete your personal data, you can do so at any time. By default, your data is kept permanently for future reference. Some data need to be kept despite a deletion request for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Security of your personal data

ChufaFactory's website is secured by default with an SSL certificate that ensures your personal data is sent encrypted. Both mobile and laptop are secured with a login code.
